Education Bureau Website Design & Development

Optimising content representation with vibrant visuals

Brief:

The Education Bureau (EDB) is responsible for implementing education policies in Hong Kong. The Education Bureau is responsible for formulating, developing and reviewing policies, programmes and legislation in respect of education from pre-primary to tertiary level; and
overseeing the effective implementation of educational programmes.

Meanwhile, the Bureau also monitors the services provided by the University Grants Committee, the Student Finance Office, the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority, the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications and the Vocational Training Council.

With the variety of the work the EDB is responsible for, the top navigation bar caters contents to the 2nd level, allowing greater flexibility. Visually we have adopted bright blue/green colours with gradients that dribble throughout the entire website. We have also created alternative visual themes for festivals like Christmas to add a touch of friendliness to the website of a government bureau.
